Thank you! It’s a slam dunk

It feels like the night before Christmas.

Tomorrow The International School of Gospel Music will begin. That alone is a dream come true for me. But that’s not all…

31 persons will be our guests of honor. They come from Serbia, Bulgaria, Belarus, Ukraine and Poland – and they are ready to start gospel choirs and gospel churches in their own countries. They are true pioneers! Most of these countries have NO gospel music.

MY FRIENDS PAID TO MAKE THIS POSSIBLE! My choir members and Facebook friends collected money to pay for flights and scholarship for our guests.

The result of the fundraising effort is $19.500!
(This also includes donations from “The foundation of Spirit, Development and Conciousness” and from and from ” Emmanuel Baptist Church, Brooklyn”)

When I started the fundraising campaign my goal was to raise money for 6-8 persons. But my friends wanted to do more. They “slam dunked” the project – and raised money enough for 31 persons!!

I am SO proud to have friends that are so generous!!

At The International School of Gospel Music we will train and prepare our new friends. Here they can network with gospel singers, directors and gospel leaders from all over the world.

For more than 30 years gospel music has been booming in the western parts of Europe. Now our brothers and sisters in Eastern Europe need help to get started with gospel music.

For many years totalitarian regimes oppressed their peoples. Fear and hopelessness held people in bondage. Maybe that’s why the songs of the slaves have a special appeal there?!

I am honored to be a part of a new gospel music movement in Eastern Europe!
This is just the beginning, my friends…
